Spent a few hours at our families cabin in the local mountains... This tree has survived the past 30 years. My grandparents built our cabin and didn't want to cut this tree down so they built the deck around it. We were getting ready to leave and I couldn't wait for the sun to get any lower so I decided to shoot a few bracketed shots and try HDR. Of course I didn't have a tripod, as I don't own a working tripod at this moment, so this was taken hand held. I liked the way it turned out.

I had initially pulled off the road to try and capture the setting sun on the snow covered Sheep Mountain range and realized I was a disappointed that I was really too far away and then I turned around and saw the setting sun behind these cool Joshua trees...There's a bit of sun flare in this image, but I liked the shadows and the cool clouds.
Thank you to all the commented on my Fencepost photo yesterday!
