It's Snowing the the Lego Snowglobe!
For a craft last year my son made these Lego guy snow globes that we saved and pulled out in addition to our Christmas decorations this year!
Day 337 of 365
Cool Light This Morning!
Beautiful light on the fresh snow capped Spring Mountains. I think I should have packed up my camera gear instead of golfing! This is a quick iPhone snap and I was wished I had been closer to capture the sunrise on the snow capped Spring Mountains!
Day 328 of 365
Spent some time today working on the Sandquist Railway.... It was cold in the Mountains today, 19degrees with snow flurries! I'll add some photos to the Railway gallery soon!
Day 365 has arrived... I took a photo a day for the entire year of 2011.... Some days it was a quick snap at the end of the day and other days it was a large part of the day to find that one photograph to post... I'm pleased with what i've learned. Met lots of amazing photographers here on Smugmug and on Google+. Tomorrow i'm starting all over again, once you start it's hard to think of not taking a picture every day... There are more things I want to learn and this seems to be the best way to push me forward... Happy New Year!... on to 2012....
Took a drive up the local mountains today... This was the scene as the clouds were lifting after about 12 inches over night.... I liked the way this came out!
I wrote up my PP for this image here: http://www.douglassandquist.com/tech/dougs-post-processing.-this-might-be-a-new-series
Early snow so far this season... let's hope it keeps snowing!
J got a Princess snow globe at the drug store today... So I had to try and shoot it! :)
What's interesting about the desert southwest is that when you head to the mountains the terrain turns from desert to forest in a very short distance... It almost feels like you make one turn and you've left the desert and have entered the forest... This is the desert portion looking up into a snow storm.. It was very interesting as this was taken in sunshine looking into the clouds...
Spent a few hours in the mountains today.. Found these berries still around after a fairly harsh winter. There was about 5' of snow covering them for most of the winter. I liked the red color against the rock and snow..
Snow in Vegas...
