Grizzly Peak-Disney's California Adventure
My family and I frequent Disneyland and California Adventure and I always bring my camera and try to find unique views and I thought this was a bit different!
Handful of Almonds
All I got for today!
Yes, it's an onion. It's a pretty good onion, not too strong, and not to weak, I'd call it just right! Had fun trying out Nik Software's Snapseed for the Mac to take care of this B&W conversion.
It's a family tradition very year to make homemade English Toffee... I'm almost half done with this year's batch... it's a lot of stirring and melting of chocolate... Its lots of work but everyone seems to love it so it makes it work the effort. The dish on the right has Dark chocolate and the one of the left has Milk chocolate.
the light is bad, the image is a quick snap, but the pie is delicious!
These are liquid amber trees in my parents from yard... they are just starting to show their fall colors. This was taken with a iPhone 4s and edited with Aperture.
Red Corn for fall!
Finally got around to carving a pumpkin this year... He's got a bit of a crooked smile, let's call it a "wry" smile! :) and of course I had to whittle on the teeth a bit, trying to make them look like teeth.. He'll do!
Avocados, Lemons and a lone Pear! liked the colors and textures... iPhone photo edited with snapspeed.
Deck 9 of the Disney Wonder at the Port of Los Angeles on the day to disembark. The deck is empty and you can barely see the green cranes from the port. Its a cool ship and I'll get a gallery of photos up from our trip soon!
Lettuce, went to my mom's house for dinner tonight and found these leaves of lettuce fresh out of the salad spinner! I liked the color and the textures...
Who remembers running through the house with reckless abandon? I sure do and my kids have fun making those memories! Luckily I sort of captured this moment.. This is slightly cropped from the original and sharpened a touch and there was very little chance of catching her face in focus at 1.8! but I liked the joy anyways...
Trying to capture summer is fun, so many ways to capture the fun times! This is a stitched soccer(or football for those anywhere other than the USA) that has become a pool toy!... When it's submerged and all the air is allowed to escape it fills with water and then when squeezed it sends water in all directions, kind of like a sprinkler.. Reece's hands are almost strong enough to get the sprinkler effect going.. He'll keep practicing and probably get it by the end of summer!
Fun art with Crayons made for today's addition to this project! Played around with the DOF and PP a bit..
Managed to get J out of the bath and get most of her hair combed... I'm sure she'll just love this photo in 20 years, but oh well I liked the light on her face, wish I could have coaxed a bit of a smile, but sometimes you just roll with what you've got!
Reece got a Lego boat today.... and built it all by himself! This is a first! He was so excited and not sure if he could do it, but he did and he was so excited... So this is his creation.
Forgot my camera at work this evening.. which led me to use my iPhone for today's image... Then I tried out the new space filters in Picnic to see what I could come up with.. It works, I like it...
Even when you are all done with school, there is still studying to be done!... This is my wife spending some time this afternoon studying for her Internal Medicine boards. Have to be renewed every 10 years, can't believe it's been 10 years already!
Finn McMissile is a pretty cool toy! Transforms from a car into an amphibious vehicle..
J loved seeing the Snow White and Cinderella.
Who doesn't love Tigger!
Playing catch up!.. Just returned from a quick trip to Disneyland. This is a pic taken in Baker, CA just after sunset! Really like the glow of the horizon.
This guy needs to see a dentist fast! Or maybe find some new slippers....
Found this cool little vase of flowers on the table tonight... It's monday and i'll I've got.... their cute though...
Love the summer monsoons that come through the desert... of course the flash floods and trees being uprooted are the scary side of them... they do leave the skies beautiful!
Had thunderstorms on and off throughout today, even though we only had a few sprinkles at our house... this is what I found when I stepped out my front door to get the mail... the last glimpse of light on the clouds.... Looks to me like someone painted the clouds!
Three years ago today, Miss J was born into our lives! She's my favorite subject to photograph, with her brother a close second! Here's a pic a few minutes after she was born: http://www.sandquistphotography.com/Family/Year-1/Jillian-Louise/5375256_oyAyo#329235113_L4o88
Now, she's already studying the computer screen! LOL! Happy Birthday J!
Tried to take a photo of my wife..... and this is what I got instead. Loved Cars2 btw....
Peach fuzz and a Peach pit! These little jewels are delicious!... For some reason the fuzz popped out a bit more in Sepia rather than in color, so I went with the fuzz... Plus I like the glow effect...
I love it when I find new random toys to photograph.... I believe this came a a kids meal from Del Taco, but not entirely sure and I have no idea what it is or what it's called, but he makes me laugh so I had to photograph it!
