Took a day trip to Death Valley today. Been a very long time since I'd been there. Probably over 25 years in fact. I didn't remember much. I hope to have a Gallery up by tomorrow, i'll post a link when I get the gallery ready... This is at Zabrisky Point... the actual Zabrisky point is just to the right of this image. Guess this is where all the Borax mines are located. Had a great day overall... Had fun on the Salt Flats of Badwater, the lowest elevation in the United States, at -282. No need for a reflector there!.. I took pictures at high noon and the faces were adequately lit! :) Oh and gas at Furnace Creek is $5.75 for regular, and $5.96 for premium!

Playing catch up!.. Just returned from a quick trip to Disneyland. This is a pic taken in Baker, CA just after sunset! Really like the glow of the horizon.

Can you see the Mummy? This is Mummy Mountain after about 6" of fresh snow! Was tempted to convert this to B&W, but the blue sky against the green trees was too good to pass up!....

Spent Christmas Eve up in the local mountains... Took R on a hike into the forest a bit and found the area that suffered a fire 2 summers ago. The golden trees have burned and some of the aspen trunks are black. The forest service is currently trying to remove the burned trees as it's an area where people hike during the summer. I decided to try a little HDR here, it's not to bad, but I think I could rework it to make it better, but this will do for now!. :) Merry Christmas eve all.

Sunset, Saturday March 5th, 2011, Carlsbad, CA the end of an amazing day! 70 degrees warm, the ocean temp in the 50's but the kids didn't care! They were in the ocean til the sun said goodbye..;) In fact Reece is one of the two boys in the lower right of this shot the other is his cousin who was celebrating his 13th birthday this weekend... It's really nice my nephews are Jr life guards.. I just slightly worry when I have a camera in hand!
