I got this cast iron scone pan(Amazon Link) as a Christmas gift this year and finally got around to making some scones. These are gluten free and dairy free Lemon scones. I made them from scratch and need to hurry and write the recipe down before I forget. :) The pan is perfect for any kind of scones or cornbread. These only baked for 15 min in the oven.

This is a daisy from a recent Costco flora purchase... $16/bunch and they seem to last at least a week often more if you pluck out the dead ones occasionally.
Light from a large softbox about 16 inches from the flowers.
So, this is how I make almost instant coffee... Espresso ground with a burr grinder, mug of hot water warmed in the microwave(I'm way to lazy to wait for the tea kettle, sadly.) and then make two shots of espresso into the hot water... My version of an Americano, or Doug's Instant.

So I've been working on my Rembrandt lighting techniques...Really impressed with Joel Grimes Lit Up series on the Framed Network. Lots of amazing lighting tips and tricks. I now know why i'm drawn to the one light look. My art history background, the only classed in college I really enjoyed! I think my son is gonna get tired of modeling... :)
R is feeling almost normal... Well enough to work on his Legos! He was playing with Legos right next to my strip box, so I picked up my camera and grabbed a few frames. Shadows are a bit harsh on the left side of his face but I wasn't going to get a chance to move the lights or the subject... Way to engaged in the Legos!
Having fun on her way too small tricycle... It was a bit chilly so the hat was a good idea! I cropped this square and wanted to figure out how to get rid of the red car reflector in the upper right corner, I'll probably end up just cropping tighter. I suppose I could try a Gradient in that area to darken it... Hmm
Had some fun outside today... Even though it was bright sunshine it was quite cool in the shade! R wanted me to take a few photos of his funny faces.... I caught this laugh as he was transitioning to a goofy face!
Its January 1, 2013 and I beginning a new Photo a Day project. I'm gonna see if I can do another year and make it 3 in a row! I guess I'm a bit addicted to the process. My kids didn't make it to Midnight last night, so they had to make sure they could use their horns today!
